A Practical and Simple Method for Selecting Faucets

Rotary handle:

It feels light and has a good spool. Common spool spools designed by faucet manufacturers include steel ball spools and ceramic spools. The steel ball valve core has good pressure resistance, but the disadvantage is that the rubber ring which acts as a seal is easy to wear out and will soon age. Compared with the steel ball spool, the ceramic spool is more heat-resistant and wear-resistant.

At the same time, the ceramic valve itself has good sealing performance, so it can achieve a high number of open times, and won’t cause nozzle leakage due to the wear of the spool. The ceramic spool faucet made by the faucet manufacturer is more comfortable and smooth in the handle, and it opens and closes quickly.

To test the book:

the quality is more assured. The main body of the faucet is usually brass. The plating quality of products made of brass can be guaranteed the best. The higher the purity of brass, the better the plating quality, and the less likely the electroplating layer on the surface is to be corroded. In order to reduce costs, some faucet manufacturers choose zinc alloy instead of brass.

Although the state allows the use of zinc alloy instead of brass, the quality of zinc alloy plating is poor and the corrosion resistance is not strong. When choosing and purchasing, consumers can use the method of weighting to identify. Brass is heavier and harder, and zinc alloy is lighter and softer.

However, experts from faucet manufacturers believe that the quality of faucets should not be judged by weight alone, “because some faucet manufacturers can also make the faucet heavier by increasing the wall thickness of the faucet or adding other metal materials”. Consumers had better ask the sales staff of the faucet manufacturer for the test report of the product. If the test report confirms that the product is qualified, then “the problem is not big”.

Test water flow:

rich and soft foam indicates that the former is better, consumers should choose more durable integral casting faucet. The sound of an integrally cast faucet is duller when knocking. Consumers can judge whether the faucet is integrally cast by knocking on the faucet when choosing and purchasing. When choosing and purchasing, the faucet with foamer should be selected as far as possible, and the water flow should be felt by hand. The soft water flow and rich foaming (water bubble content) indicate that the quality of the former is better. Bubblers generally have six layers, usually consisting of a metal mesh cover (partly plastic). When water flows through the mesh, it will be cut into a large number of small water columns mixed with air, so that water will not splash around.
