Leakage of shower faucet in bathtub

1.Close the intake valve

Remove the small screw on or behind the handle of the faucet to remove the handle fixed on the main body of the faucet. Some screws are hidden under metal buttons, plastic buttons or plastic sheets. These buttons or plastic sheets are clipped or screwed into the handle. Just open the button and you will see the handle screw on the top. If necessary, use some permeable lubricants like WD-40 specifications to loosen the screw.

2.Remove the handle

Use big carp pliers or adjustable wrenches to remove the filling nuts. Be careful not to leave scratches on the metal. Rotate the spool or shaft in the same direction as you turn on the shower faucet to unscrew them. Look at the faucet components.

3.Remove the screw that holds the gasket

If necessary, use permeable lubricant to loosen the screw. Check the screw and spool and replace them if they are damaged.

4.Replace the old washer with a new washer that is exactly the same

New gaskets that almost match the old gaskets can generally stop the tap from dripping. You should also notice whether the old washer has a slant or a flat surface and replace it with the same new washer. The washer designed for cold water only expands sharply when hot water flows past, thus blocking the outlet and slowing down the flow of hot water. Some washers work in hot and cold water, but make sure that the washers you bought for replacement are identical to the original ones.

5.Installation of shower faucet

Fix the new washer to the spool, and then reassemble the components of the tap. Rotate the spool clockwise. When the spool is in place, reinstall the filling nut. Be careful not to scratch the wrench on the metal.

6.Drainage detection

Re-install the handle and return the button or disc. Re-open the water supply and check for leaks.
